Bridge over Whistler Valley Trail

I took a night walk to the Lost Lake in Whistler, BC, Canada on one of the nights and I regretted it terribly for a few reasons.

One: I did not have a tripod with me. I tried putting the camera on top of my bag and other surfaces¬†but failed to get good shots. Two: I’m not an active person, so I underestimated how far I had to walk. I was so tired by the time I got to Lost Lake that I didn’t have the¬†energy to invest in playing with my camera settings. I wish I’d taken a break midway, though.

Three: I took the trip at night. Now, the idea was to see the aurora in the night sky. But we didn’t really get to see it. Instead, we heard all the beautiful sound of waterfalls as we were hiking through the valley trail. If the trip was taken during the daytime, I would have been able to take so many photos!

I could take a trip later, but it was already towards the end of the week, and I wanted to avoid getting too ill as I had about 28 hours of journey to home ahead of me. However, one good thing that came out of the night trip is the photo above that I took with my action cam Xiaomi Yi 4k. Edited with Affinity Photo on Mac, I quite like how they look although the overexposed bit of the photo is too distracting. (They were like this on the original RAW photo and I couldn’t recover any details from there. Needless to say, the lighting condition was extremely poor and I took the photo while walking. So I’m happy with whatever I got.)
